Brazilian bodybuilder Ricardo Nolasco dos Santos, 31, has tragically passed away after suffering a stroke and lung infection. Ricardo, a 11-time bodybuilding champion and two-time World Muscle Contest overall winner, was a beloved figure in the fitness community with thousands of followers on social media. Just three months ago, in July, he made headlines after proposing to his girlfriend during a competition. Sadly, he died on October 20, shortly after the death of his beloved cat, Baki.
According to foreign media reports, Ricardo’s mother, Iva Nolasco, revealed that her son was deeply heartbroken over the loss of his cat and had been emotionally distressed. One day, after dining out with friends, his blood pressure suddenly spiked, and he complained of a severe headache before suffering seizures. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed a brain hemorrhage and subsequent brain damage, which later led to a fatal lung infection.
Ricardo’s fiancée, Sabrina Wollman, paid a heartfelt tribute on social media, writing: “My love, we will meet again in the next life.” She described their four-year relationship as the happiest time of her life, adding, “Now I understand why Baki left first — because he couldn’t live in a world without you.”
