Armed Robbers Steal RM9.7 Million Worth Of Gold In Kuala Lumpur Heist

Date:

Four armed men reportedly carried out a daring robbery at a gold shop on Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Kuala Lumpur, this morning, escaping with valuables estimated to be worth up to RM9.7 million.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Fadil Marsus said the suspects entered the premises at about 11am before brandishing two pistols and making off with jewellery, according to local media reports.

He said the group fled with 21 trays of gold weighing approximately 15 kilograms in total, in what authorities described as a swift and coordinated operation.

A three-minute CCTV recording later circulated widely online, allegedly showing helmeted suspects carrying out the robbery before escaping within minutes.

During the incident, a security guard at the premises was also reportedly attacked by the suspects. A shotgun and a bullet belonging to the guard were also said to be missing following the heist.

Police confirmed that the case is being investigated under Sections 395 and 397 of the Penal Code, which cover armed gang robbery.

Authorities added that efforts are ongoing to track down the suspects and recover the stolen items.
