A violent confrontation broke out between British holidaymakers and a German tourist following an alleged drunken argument over World War references at a nightclub in Pattaya.
Footage from inside The Godfather Bar in the Sin City nightlife district shows two men with English accents shouting insults and pointing at a 44-year-old German man before the situation escalated into a street fight.
The incident reportedly began after the British men, said to be intoxicated, made provocative remarks including references to the Second World War, with one allegedly shouting: “Is that your Nazi boyfriend?”
According to the German man’s girlfriend, tensions rose after she noticed the group behaving aggressively. She said she initially urged her partner to avoid confrontation due to the unpredictable nature of the area, but he still approached them, which led to further escalation.
The confrontation later spilled onto Soi Buakhao at around 2am, where footage shows the German man being punched and kicked to the ground while chaos unfolded outside the bar.
Several bar staff reportedly rushed in, and motorcycle taxi riders eventually stepped in to break up the fight. The British men are said to have fled the scene before police arrived.
Authorities from Pattaya City Police confirmed that no formal complaints had been lodged at the time, although an investigation has since been launched.
The woman also claimed their belongings were damaged during the incident, including her partner’s mobile phone, which was rendered unusable. She added that the family had been left concerned after learning of the fight.
Officials say nightlife incidents in the area remain a recurring issue despite ongoing efforts to improve safety in the popular tourist destination.
