According to a report by Diario Al Día, the tragic incident occurred early on August 4 in Puerto Inca, where Emely Fiorela Mego Díaz was working at a billiard hall. She was reportedly having an argument with her 27-year-old boyfriend, Henry Manuel del Águila Macedo, who had come to visit her at work. After the argument escalated, Henry stormed out of the venue, prompting Emily to run after him in an attempt to calm him down.
As she caught up and tried to hug him, the two lost balance and tumbled toward the edge of a second-floor corridor. Unfortunately, the safety railing at that spot was incomplete. Emily instinctively grabbed onto it to stop herself, but both she and Henry ended up falling headfirst from the height.
Emergency footage from the scene showed Emily covered in blood, having apparently suffered severe injuries from the fall. Despite the medical team’s immediate efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Henry was initially rushed to the Puerto Inca Medical Center but due to the severity of his condition, he was transferred to the Arzobispo Loayza Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Authorities are still investigating the exact cause and circumstances of the incident.
