Four more districts in Kelantan have been hit by floods, bringing the total number of affected districts to eight, with the number of evacuees rising to 9,615 as of 8:30 am today.
The newly affected districts are Tanah Merah, Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, and Machang.
According to disaster information from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), all flood victims involve 3,643 families taking shelter in 52 temporary evacuation centres (PPS) across the eight districts, including Kota Bharu, Tumpat, Bachok, and Pasir Puteh.
Tumpat has the highest number of evacuees, with 4,906 people from 1,932 families.
This is followed by Kota Bharu with 2,417 people from 909 families, Bachok with 2,024 people from 722 families, and Pasir Puteh with 167 people from 51 families.
