High Court Moves Up Decision on Najib’s Bid for Home Detention to Dec 22

Date:

Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is set to find out earlier than expected whether he can serve the rest of his prison sentence under home detention instead of at Kajang Prison.

The High Court has rescheduled its decision date from January 5, 2025, to December 22, 2024.

Senior federal counsel from the Attorney General’s Chambers, Shamsul Bolhassan, confirmed the revised date when contacted by Malay Mail today.

The move means Najib will receive clarity two weeks sooner on his application, which seeks to allow him to complete his jail term outside of prison confines.
