Husband Broadcasts Affair With Adult Streamer, Wife Awarded RM42,900

Date:

A Taipei woman, identified as Xiao Ying, discovered in September 2024 that her husband, Ah Fu, had been having an affair with an adult platform live streamer, Xiao Tian. The two not only exchanged daily flirtatious messages—such as “Kissing you a thousand times still isn’t enough” and “If we can’t be married in this life, I’ll love you forever”—but also broadcasted their intimate encounters live on the platform.

The affair escalated further when Ah Fu reportedly planned a trip to China during Lunar New Year to meet Xiao Tian’s parents. Feeling humiliated and emotionally exhausted, Xiao Ying filed a lawsuit seeking NT$700,000 (approximately RM100,000) in damages from both her husband and Xiao Tian.

During the trial, Ah Fu and Xiao Tian attempted to defend themselves by claiming that the flirtatious messages were merely song lyrics and that the live broadcasts were “professional performances” intended to boost viewership, denying any real romantic involvement.

However, the court rejected their explanation. Evidence, including chat records and screenshots of the live streams, demonstrated that the couple’s conduct had seriously violated spousal rights. Considering that Xiao Ying and Ah Fu finalized their divorce in March 2025, the judge ruled that the damages sought were excessive and awarded NT$300,000 (around RM42,900) in compensation instead. The couple may appeal the decision.

The case has sparked widespread attention, highlighting the growing intersection of online adult entertainment and personal relationships, and raising questions about privacy, morality, and accountability in digital spaces.
