Husband Exchange Cheating Wife for A Cow with Affair Partner

Date:

A viral video from North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, has shocked social media — showing a man calmly handing over his wife to her lover in a traditional Tolaki ceremony known as Mowea Sarapu or Mosehe.

In the video, the husband, identified as SRH from Desa Puudombi, appears composed as he formally “surrenders” his wife, NS, to another man in front of village elders, officials, and local residents. During the symbolic handover, SRH placed his hand on the lover’s shoulder and delivered an emotional message:

“I hand over NS, whom I have divorced. Please take care of her. Don’t ever hurt her. She was never happy with me.”

According to Tribunnews, SRH and NS had been married for five years before she was caught cheating with another man in Unaaha District, Konawe. Both NS and her lover admitted to the affair.

Under the Mosehe custom, the man accused of being a “homewrecker” (pebinor) was required to fulfill certain conditions agreed upon by both parties — including providing one cow (as a substitute for the traditional buffalo) and paying 5 million rupiah (approximately RM1,270) as compensation.

Village head Safrudin confirmed the ceremony and said it was carried out peacefully in accordance with local customs.

The unusual act has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online — with some praising SRH’s calm acceptance, while others criticized the situation as deeply humiliating.
