The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has confiscated health screening products valued at RM1.33 million during a raid on a warehouse and packaging facility.
Datuk Azman Adam, KPDN Enforcement director-general, said the Putrajaya Enforcement Division, working with Johor KPDN, conducted the operation after receiving a tip-off from a trademark owner’s representative.
“Inspections revealed the facility was storing various health screening devices bearing a brand suspected to be counterfeit, likely intended for consumer sale and distribution,” he said.
Seized items included automatic blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, digital thermometers, digital scales, pulse oximeters, and blood glucose meters. A significant portion of these products allegedly used registered trademarks without permission from the rightful owners.
Authorities detained a local woman, claiming to manage the premises, to assist in the investigation. The case is being investigated under the Trademarks Act 2019 for suspected unauthorised use of a registered trademark.
