A 32-year-old man has died after falling from the third floor of a building in Kuala Lumpur while playing pickleball. He is believed to have slipped while attempting to retrieve a ball.
The incident was reported to police at 9:43pm on Tuesday, 2 December, according to Wangsa Maju police chief ACP Mohamad Lazim Ismail.
“Preliminary investigations found that the victim had been playing pickleball on the third floor before the fall. He climbed over a fence beside the court to retrieve a ball when he slipped and fell to the ground floor,” ACP Lazim said in a statement yesterday (3 December).
The victim’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the case has been classified as sudden death.
The facility where the incident occurred expressed its condolences in an Instagram Story, saying:
“We are deeply saddened by a tragic incident that occurred at our facility, which resulted in the loss of a life. At this time, we ask for understanding and compassion as we respect the privacy of the family and loved ones affected.
We kindly urge the public to refrain from speculation while the appropriate authorities carry out their investigations. Our thoughts are with the family during this incredibly difficult period.
