A woman in Tainan, identified only as Hua Hua, had a urinary catheter installed due to illness, and a male friend, Ah Hao, offered to help with cleaning and changing it. However, he took advantage of the situation, sexually assaulting her seven times. The court found him guilty of forced sexual intercourse and sexual molestation, handing him a five-year suspended sentence along with probation and protective supervision.
According to the ruling, between December 17 and 26, 2024, Ah Hao repeatedly ignored Hua Hua’s refusal in her bedroom, kissing her, touching her breasts and genitals, and coercing her into sexual acts four times.
On one occasion, Hua Hua became severely ill with a fever and requested medical attention, temporarily escaping his assaults. However, after her discharge in early January 2025, Ah Hao forcibly moved into her rental home under the guise of caregiving. During this period, he continued his assaults, committing three additional instances of forced sexual acts.
On the evening of January 11, when Ah Hao attempted another assault, Hua Hua resisted and managed to call the police. Officers arrived promptly and took Ah Hao into custody.
The judge concluded that Ah Hao had exploited Hua Hua’s weakened state, pretending to care for her while repeatedly satisfying his own sexual desires. He admitted to his crimes and reached a settlement with Hua Hua. The court sentenced him to 1 year and 6 months for each of the seven counts, with a total of 2 years to be served under a five-year suspended sentence, alongside probation and protective supervision. Ah Hao retains the right to appeal.
