Date:

A 29-year-old laborer, Ahmad Farhan Rizal Abdullah, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today facing two charges for allegedly violating the privacy of a female entrepreneur by spying on her while she bathed and trespassing at a guesthouse last month.

Ahmad pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Noor Mazrinie Mahmood. He is accused of invading the privacy of the 36-year-old woman at a guesthouse on Jalan Banggol Peradong, Kampung Jeram Manir, at 12:30 a.m. on August 26. If convicted under Section 509 of the Penal Code, he could face up to five years in prison, a fine, or both.

He also faces a trespassing charge under Section 448 of the Penal Code, punishable by up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine of RM5,000, or both.

The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Anith Nabilah Rusli, while Ahmad was represented by Azlina Jaafar from the National Legal Aid Bureau. The court set bail at RM6,000 with one surety and scheduled the case for October 5.

The victim, on a vacation and photoshoot at the guesthouse, reportedly saw a hand holding a mobile phone at her bathroom window, prompting her to scream for her husband.

In a separate case, Ahmad was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to drug offenses involving methamphetamine. Magistrate Iffah Nabihah Mohd Ishak handed down the sentence, with the accused represented by Nur Jawahir Muhd Zulmajdi from BBGK.
