Man Fatally Struck by Taiwan Railways Train After Trespassing

A tragic accident occurred on the Taiwan Railways last night (Feb 26) when a 21-year-old man was struck by the Tze-Chiang Limited Express No. 154 after entering the tracks.

The victim, surnamed Pan, was pronounced dead at the hospital despite rescue efforts, authorities confirmed. Preliminary reports indicate severe head trauma with brain matter exposed.

The incident took place around 10:00pm on the Western Line between Yangmei and Fugang stations. Rail services on both tracks were temporarily suspended, and several trains experienced delays, with operations resuming at reduced speed by 11:00pm.

Emergency responders arrived promptly, but the force of the collision left Pan with fatal injuries.

Police have launched an investigation, reviewing nearby CCTV footage and contacting the victim’s family to determine the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
