Man Ridicules Teachers for ‘Not Owning Supercars’, Gets Educated by Internet

Date:

A Malaysian man has come under fire online after suggesting that formal education and teaching are meaningless because teachers do not drive Lamborghinis.

The man posted an image of himself posing in front of a Lamborghini on social media, accompanied by the caption:
“They say without school and a degree you won’t succeed, but I’ve never seen a teacher driving a Lamborghini.”

His statement implied that he achieved greater success without a degree than those in the teaching profession.

The post triggered immediate backlash, with many netizens pointing out the irony that his ability to write the caption was thanks to the very educators he mocked. Others reminded him that success is not solely measured by material wealth.

Religious educator Ustaz Elyas Ismail criticised the statement, calling it disrespectful toward teachers, whose contribution goes far beyond luxury assets.

Several teachers responded publicly, explaining that their goal is to educate and uplift the younger generation—not to collect supercars. They said their pride lies in watching their students grow and succeed, adding that true educational achievement is when students eventually surpass their teachers, even if that means one day driving a Lamborghini themselves.
