According to a statement today, heavy and persistent rain is expected across six states during the period. Rain will begin in Sabah (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, Sandakan, and Kudat) on Friday, before spreading to Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Bachok, Pasir Puteh), Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan, Rompin), and Terengganu from Saturday.
By Sunday, rainfall is forecast to affect Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru) and parts of Sarawak, including Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Pakan, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, and Bintulu.
METMalaysia also warned of strong winds and rough seas in coastal areas and for marine activities in the South China Sea during the same period. Northeasterly winds of 40–50 km/h and waves reaching up to 3.5 meters are expected, posing dangers to small boats, sea recreational activities, and water sports.
