A routine attempt to pop a pimple ended in tragedy after a Malaysian man died from a severe bacterial infection.
According to a Facebook post shared on “We Are Malaysian Kids,” a woman explained that she tried to relieve her husband’s pain by squeezing a red, seemingly mature pimple on his nose.
The following day, the man developed symptoms including severe headache and fever. Despite taking medication, his condition worsened, and the area around his nose became increasingly red and swollen.
Doctors later explained that the pimple was located in the “danger triangle” of the face, a sensitive area connecting the nose, mouth, and brain, filled with nerves and small blood vessels. Infections in this region carry a high risk of spreading to the brain.
The man was admitted to the ICU and underwent emergency surgery. Unfortunately, he passed away two days after the procedure.
The wife, who shared her experience on social media, expressed deep remorse and heartbreak, saying she blames herself for the tragedy. She reportedly fainted upon learning of her husband’s death.
Medical experts caution against squeezing pimples in the danger triangle due to the high risk of life-threatening infections.
