Nurse On Way To Work Dies After Motorcycle Smashes Into Trailer On ELITE

A male nurse was killed after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into the rear of a trailer parked along the emergency lane at Kilometre 3.8 of the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) on Friday morning.

The incident, which occurred at around 7am, claimed the life of the victim, believed to be in his 30s and employed at Hospital Al-Sultan Abdullah, Universiti Teknologi MARA Puncak Alam. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol said authorities received information about the accident at approximately 7am.

“Initial investigations found that the unloaded trailer, travelling from Seafield towards Bukit Jelutong, had stopped in the emergency lane after suffering a tyre blowout.

“A motorcycle ridden by a man in his 30s travelling in the same direction is believed to have crashed into the rear right side of the trailer,” he said in a statement on Friday.

Ramsay said the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
