Parking Scam Kings Busted: Trio Jailed And Fined In DBKL Sweep

Date:

Three men were each fined between RM1,200 and RM2,500 and sentenced to two to three months’ jail after being found guilty of involvement in illegal parking attendant activities around the city centre.

The sentences were handed down after all three pleaded guilty in court yesterday under Section 50(3) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The provision prohibits any form of coercion or harassment involving the supervision or washing of vehicles on public roads or parking spaces without proper authority.

It is also commonly used to take action against individuals involved in illegal “parking fee collection” activities, as public parking bays remain government-controlled spaces.

In a statement, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) said the trio was arrested last Thursday during Ops Tindakan Khas Jaga Series 5/2026 conducted around Jalan Yew and Jalan Pasar Baharu.

DBKL said enforcement action was taken following public complaints regarding unauthorised parking fee collection activities in the area.

The authority added that it will continue monitoring hotspot locations from time to time, and members of the public may channel complaints or feedback through DBKL’s official reporting platforms.
