Police Hunt Suspect After Teen Allegedly Assaulted And Held In Shah Alam Apartment

Date:

Police are tracking down a man suspected of unlawfully confining and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy at an apartment in Bukit Kemuning, Section 32, here yesterday.

Shah Alam district police chief Ramsay Embol said investigations found that the suspect allegedly lured the teenager by promising to treat him to a mobile internet package if he helped carry items at his home.

The victim was then allegedly tied up before being sexually assaulted by the suspect.

During the period of confinement, the teenager managed to free himself after about three hours and called for help from a nearby neighbour through a window of the apartment unit.

He was subsequently rescued after the neighbour alerted the authorities.

Ramsay advised the public to closely monitor their children’s movements and to warn them against interacting with strangers to prevent similar incidents.

He added that the suspect has been identified and efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.

Members of the public with information related to the case are urged to contact investigating officer Inspector Mohamad Sabri Abd Rani at 017-2892628.
