Police Nab Foreigner After Knife Attack on Ex-Girlfriend

Date:

A foreign man has been arrested for attacking his former girlfriend with a knife at a private college in Subang Jaya earlier today.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat confirmed the arrest, stating that the 20-year-old female victim—also a foreign national—suffered a serious neck injury. She was rushed to University Malaya Medical Centre and placed in the Red Zone. Her condition is reported as critical but stable.

Police received a report about the incident at 6.30pm, and the suspect, aged 21, was detained shortly after. Preliminary investigations revealed the victim sustained a slash wound to the left side of her neck during the assault.

“The motive is still under investigation,” said Wan Azlan, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of these punishments.

He urged anyone with information related to the case to contact the Subang Jaya district police at 03-78627100 or reach out to investigating officer Inspector Fadizah Ajamin at 019-8582166.
