A senior police officer was found dead after allegedly falling from an apartment at Vista Alam, Section 14 here on Wednesday.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the death of the male officer from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK Selangor) after receiving a report on the incident.
He said the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) control centre received information about the incident at about 3.07am.
“The victim was confirmed dead at the scene,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He added that the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR) pending post-mortem results.
“Selangor Police extend their condolences to the victim’s family over the incident,” he said.
He also urged the public not to spread speculation that could interfere with the investigation.
