Six people were injured in a collision involving six vehicles along the Alor Gajah–Melaka Tengah–Jasin (AMJ) Highway near the Shell petrol station in Cheng this morning.
The 6.30am incident involved a Mitsubishi Triton pickup, two BMW cars, a Perodua Axia, a Perodua Myvi and a Nissan Almera.
Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said police received information about the crash at 7.30am.
“The accident is believed to have occurred when the Triton pickup lost control and hit the road divider while heading from Melaka city towards Cheng, veering into the opposite lane and crashing into five other vehicles before overturning.
“As a result of the collision, all six victims sustained injuries and were sent to Melaka Hospital for treatment,” he said in a statement today.
