Police have confirmed that one man was killed and another injured in a shooting incident outside an entertainment outlet in Skudai late on Saturday night.
Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP M. Kumarasan said the incident occurred around 11pm in Taman Industri Jaya and is believed to involve a 27-year-old local woman suspected to be the shooter.
According to police, one male victim, aged 27, died at the scene, while another man of the same age sustained injuries after being shot during the incident.
Authorities also believe a third individual may have been injured, but his identity has yet to be confirmed as he was reportedly taken away by acquaintances immediately after the shooting. Police have urged the person to come forward to assist investigations.
Investigators are also tracking two suspects who remain at large as efforts continue to piece together the circumstances leading to the shooting.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment between 30 and 40 years, along with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction. Police have also urged members of the public with information to contact the investigating officer or the Iskandar Puteri district police hotline.
