Authorities have arrested a suspect believed to be involved in the assault of a three-year-old child in the Batu Muda area.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said the suspect was detained on Thursday (Dec 18) at his residence and has been remanded for four days until Dec 22 to facilitate investigations.
According to initial findings, the incident allegedly occurred after the child began crying. The suspect is believed to be the 18-year-old son of the babysitter.
“The victim is currently in stable condition and is receiving treatment at the hospital,” Fadil said.
Early reports indicated that the child sustained visible bruises to the face as a result of the alleged assault. Police are continuing their investigations into the case.
