A Magistrate’s Court has issued a seven-day remand order against a Thai national to assist investigations into the murder of his compatriot in Kampung Pulai last Thursday.
The remand, which began today and runs until Saturday, was issued by Magistrate Nik Mohd Tarmizie Nik Mohd Shukri.
Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo said the 47-year-old suspect is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The case relates to the discovery of a Thai man’s body with multiple slash and stab wounds in a stream near a rubber plantation in Kampung Pulai.
The victim, identified as Manah Maemoh, 48, was found partially submerged in water and entangled among rocks and logs by a friend.
Police said checks on the body revealed multiple injuries believed to have been caused by a sharp weapon, with wounds found on the head, face, neck, arms and legs.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
