Police have arrested three individuals, including two men and a woman, to assist investigations into a fatal shooting incident that occurred outside an entertainment outlet in Taman Industri Jaya, Skudai on 9 May.
Johor Acting Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Hoo Chuan Huat said the suspects, aged between 26 and 29, were detained in operations carried out around Johor Bahru on Sunday. No firearms were seized during the arrests.
He said initial checks revealed that only one of the male suspects has prior criminal records, while investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in the case.
Authorities are still working to establish the motive behind the shooting, including the possibility of links to secret society activities. Police have not ruled out any angles at this stage.
The victim, a 27-year-old man who worked at a warehouse in Singapore, was found dead at the scene after being shot. Another 27-year-old man, believed to be his friend, was also injured in the incident.
According to earlier reports, police received an alert from a local woman shortly before 11pm on the day of the shooting. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
