The affected areas include parts of Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub), Johor (Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru), and Sarawak (Kuching, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, Limbang). MetMalaysia said the warning was issued after detecting signs of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall exceeding 20 millimeters per hour, which are expected to last for more than an hour.
