Victim’s Ankle Severed In Violent MPV-Lorry Collision On PLUS Highway

Date:

A horrific accident involving a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a lorry on the North–South Expressway left three people injured, with one victim suffering a severed ankle.

The crash occurred at around 7.55am on Thursday along the stretch heading towards Ipoh near Lembah Beringin, Selangor.

According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mukhris, authorities received an emergency call and immediately dispatched a six-member rescue team from the Sentosa Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

He said the accident involved a Hyundai Starex MPV and a three-tonne lorry, with three Indian occupants — comprising men and women — caught up in the collision.

Two of the victims were trapped inside the vehicle and unable to move following the impact.

“One victim suffered fractures to one leg, while the other leg was severed during the crash. However, all three victims remained conscious before being handed over to medical personnel for further treatment,” he said in a statement.

Photos released by authorities showed the lorry plunging partially into a roadside drain after the collision.

One victim was also seen suffering severe injuries, with the lower part of the left leg reportedly severed below the ankle and left attached only by skin and tissue.
