A video showing a man assaulting a woman at a residential area in Penang has gone viral on social media.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rozak Muhammad said that no police report has been lodged in connection with the incident so far.
“We only know that the incident took place at a condominium in Bayan Lepas,” he said when contacted.
The 16-second video shows a man pushing and hitting a woman beside a white car while her back is turned towards him.
Shortly after, another man, believed to be the condominium’s security guard, steps in to intervene.
As the woman slowly walks around the car, the suspect is seen throwing an unidentified object at her before striking her again.
The video, which was recorded from inside another vehicle, was uploaded on the X account UpdateInfo.
