A tragic and shocking incident occurred in Ipoh last night, where an Indian woman is believed to have died by self-immolation near a shopping mall.
According to Perak Fire and Rescue Department Director Sayani, the department received an emergency call at 11:26 PM reporting a self-immolation case at the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, lying on the ground with severe burns covering approximately 80% of her body.

“Firefighters immediately carried out extinguishing efforts to put out the flames that were still burning,” Sayani said. “Medical personnel later arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman had died on the spot.”
The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further investigation. The operation concluded at 12:23 AM.
