A woman and her daughter were found dead, believed to have been murdered, at their rented home in a village area in Juru last night.
In a horrifying discovery, the woman’s husband reportedly found her body at around 7:30 p.m. in the kitchen on the ground floor, with her neck nearly severed.
Their 11-year-old daughter’s body was later found upstairs, lying face down and covered in blood.
Forensic officers are currently conducting investigations at the scene.
A neighbor, who wished to remain anonymous, said they learned about the incident after the husband informed residents through a WhatsApp community group.
“The family had just recently moved into the area, and the girl was the woman’s daughter from a previous marriage,” the neighbor said.
Meanwhile, Penang Police Chief Datuk Azizee Ismail confirmed the case, stating, “The incident involved a 51-year-old woman and her 11-year-old daughter. Further investigations are ongoing under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.”
