A 50-year-old worker in Uttar Pradesh miraculously survived after being lifted around 50 metres into the air when strong winds ripped apart a metal-roofed structure during a violent storm.
The man, identified as Nanhe Khan, was reportedly helping secure a tin-roof shelter together with several others when powerful winds suddenly tore the structure from the ground.
According to reports from local media, Khan was still holding onto ropes attached to the shelter when the storm swept both him and the structure high into the air.
Recalling the terrifying moment, Khan said he never expected the winds to become so intense.
He explained that he continued gripping the rope as the shelter was blown away before realising he had been carried far above the ground.
The worker eventually fell into a field below and astonishingly survived the impact.
Although he reportedly suffered fractures and injuries to his limbs, doctors confirmed he did not sustain serious head or facial injuries.
Khan remains able to speak and communicate normally, though he said he is still experiencing some breathing difficulties following the incident.
The extreme weather disaster reportedly caused widespread destruction across Uttar Pradesh, killing at least 111 people and injuring another 72.
Numerous homes and public facilities were also damaged during the powerful storm system, authorities said.
The shocking survival story has since drawn widespread attention online, with many describing Khan’s escape as miraculous amid the deadly weather conditions.
