Police Probe Horror Case After Human Skulls And Body Parts Found In Flat

Date:

A hospital porter in Hungary has been arrested after police discovered human body parts at his home, following allegations that he exhumed corpses and collected decomposing remains from cemeteries and his workplace.

The 30-year-old suspect was detained in Budapest on June 17 by officers from Hungary’s National Bureau of Investigation after authorities received information suggesting he was storing human remains both at a hospital and at his residence.

During a search of his apartment, investigators reportedly uncovered a disturbing collection of items, including several human skulls, a complete lower leg, a hand, and a reconstructed human face made from preserved skin. Bones were also found inside a suitcase, while a preserved heart was discovered in a jar.

Police said they are still working to determine whether the heart is of human or animal origin. All recovered remains have been sent for forensic analysis as investigations continue into the origins of the materials.

Authorities stated that the suspect allegedly admitted to collecting body parts and expressed a fascination with human anatomy during questioning. He is being investigated for the illegal use of human remains.

In a further shocking allegation, police said the man confessed to preparing food from some of the remains and consuming them. Investigators also believe he may have obtained body parts from abandoned cemeteries in Hungary and Slovakia, in addition to his workplace at a Budapest hospital.

Officers have seized electronic devices from the property as part of the ongoing probe, while authorities have not ruled out the possibility of links to more serious crimes, including potential murders.

The case has shocked the public, with police confirming that further charges may be brought depending on forensic findings and the results of the ongoing investigation.
