13-Year-Olds Plead Guilty to Stabbing and Rape Threats at School

Date:

Two 13-year-old boys who pleaded guilty to bullying a female classmate, including one who made severe threats, will learn their fate in December after their sentencing was postponed pending probation reports.

The first accused, who admitted to a charge of voluntarily causing hurt under Section 323 of the Penal Code, will be sentenced on December 2 by Magistrate Ling Hui Chuan. The hurt was caused by throwing correction tape at the victim’s chin in a classroom at a Padawan school on October 21 around 2.40 pm.

The second accused, who pleaded guilty to criminal intimidation under Section 506 of the Penal Code, faces sentencing on December 18 before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan. The charge stems from an incident on the same date and time where he threatened to stab the victim 300 times and to have her raped. Investigations revealed the boy referenced a separate school case in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, when making the threats.

  • Reason for Delay: As the offenders are children, both magistrates ordered sentencing to be postponed to obtain probation reports from the Welfare Department.
  • Bail: Both boys were released on bail of RM2,000 each, with one of their parents serving as surety.
  • Case Details: The victim, a classmate of the accused, lodged a police report after the boys repeatedly disturbed her, causing her to feel uncomfortable and emotionally distressed. The second accused’s extreme threats caused the victim fear, trauma, and made her afraid to attend school. The incidents were witnessed by several other classmates.
  • Legal Representation: Deputy public prosecutor Chuah Kai Sheng handled the cases, with neither of the accused being represented by legal counsel.
