Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has demolished 18 unauthorised structures built on a public road reserve during an integrated enforcement operation in the Jalan Rejang area, Setiawangsa, today.
The operation around the Pasar Pagi Terbuka area was carried out with the cooperation of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Pengurusan Air Selangor.
According to DBKL, the structures were removed after being found to have been erected without approval on land reserved for public roads. The action was taken under Section 46(1)(a) of the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974.
In addition to the demolitions, DBKL also carried out two seizures under Section 46(1)(d) of the same Act as part of the enforcement operation.
DBKL said the action was necessary to address unauthorised structures on public road reserves, which could affect public safety and the proper use of public spaces.
The city authority added that enforcement efforts would continue against individuals or parties who construct structures without approval on public road reserves.
DBKL also urged members of the public to report any related issues or provide feedback through its AduKL platform to assist the authorities in monitoring and addressing unauthorised developments.
