24-Year-Old Lorry Driver Killed, Three Injured In Northbound PLUS Highway Crash

A 24-year-old lorry driver was killed while three others sustained injuries in a collision involving three vehicles, including a trailer, at Kilometer 378 northbound on the North–South Expressway (PLUS) near Tanjung Malim yesterday afternoon.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said emergency services received a call at 3.57pm and rushed 30 kilometres to the scene.

“The accident involved a lorry carrying rice driven by a 24-year-old man, which collided with a trailer transporting steel coils and another lorry carrying used goods.

The driver was trapped in the cabin and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel,” he said in a statement.

Sabarodzi added that three other individuals were injured in the crash. The rescue operation concluded fully at 5.58pm.
