26-Year-Old Guard Found Dead In Drain, Cause Of Death Still Unknown

Date:

A 26-year-old security guard was found dead in a drain beside a road in Kampung Pasir Ambor Dalam, Kuala Pilah, on Wednesday morning.

Kuala Pilah district police chief Superintendent Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said police received information at around 8.40am regarding a man found lying by the roadside in the area.

Following the report, Kuala Pilah police station chief and the investigating officer went to the scene to conduct an initial inspection. The man was found inside a roadside drain, while broken branches and tree trunks were also discovered nearby.

Police said there were no initial signs of physical assault, cuts or evidence of a struggle on the victim’s body to suggest that the incident was linked to criminal activity.

Preliminary investigations also found that the man had suffered from seizures since childhood. Family members reportedly told police that he had previously lost consciousness after experiencing seizures.

A post-mortem examination was subsequently conducted, but the exact cause of death could not be determined. The case has therefore been classified as sudden death, while further investigations are still underway.

Police have urged anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the Kuala Pilah District Police Headquarters at 06-484 2999 or the nearest police station.
