34-Year-Old Man Claims Trial For Allegedly Assaulting Teen With Aluminium Rod

A 34-year-old man has claimed trial at the Magistrate’s Court here to allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy with an aluminium metal rod.

Eddy Adong pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to a charge of causing hurt to the teenager at a rented room in Inanam Capital at about 4.30pm on August 9.

He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to 10 years’ imprisonment, a fine, whipping, or any two of the punishments upon conviction.

The court fixed September 11 for pre-trial case management and allowed Eddy to be released on RM1,700 bail with two sureties.

He was also ordered not to interfere with the complainant or any prosecution witnesses.

In a separate case, a 36-year-old man claimed trial to a charge of criminal intimidation.

Rejooh Saman pleaded not guilty to allegedly threatening Recca Cynthia Saman at a rented room on the second floor of Rose Complex, Jalan Tuaran, Sunny Garden, at about 6am on August 11.

The charge stated that Rejooh threatened the woman by allegedly telling her, “I will kill you.”

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum seven-year jail term, a fine, or both upon conviction.

The court released Rejooh on RM1,600 bail with two sureties and fixed September 11 for pre-trial case management.

He was also ordered not to disturb the complainant or prosecution witnesses.

Inspector Yusdi Basri prosecuted both cases.
