47-Year-Old Driver Escapes With Minor Injuries In Crash

Date:

A 47-year-old man escaped with minor injuries after the car he was driving overturned in a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Taman Raja, Miri, early Saturday morning.

The Miri Central Fire and Rescue Station received an emergency call at about 12.24am regarding the incident, prompting firefighters to head to the location, approximately 4km from the station.

Upon arrival, the operation commander found that members of the public had already helped the driver out of the overturned vehicle.

Firefighters then assessed the scene and determined that no rescue operation was required. Personnel remained at the location to monitor the situation and ensure there were no further hazards.

The injured driver was subsequently taken to Miri Hospital by the Fire and Rescue Department’s Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team for further treatment.

The incident serves as a reminder of how quickly a loss of vehicle control can result in a rollover, particularly during late-night journeys when road conditions and visibility can vary.

After confirming the area was safe and under control, the firefighting team concluded its operation and returned to the station at about 12.42am.
