Banting School Stabbing: Teen Suspect Taken To Telok Datok Court

Date:

A 15-year-old girl who is being investigated over the stabbing of a student at a secondary school in Banting was brought to the Telok Datok Magistrates’ Court on Friday to face charges.

The teenager, wearing a black hoodie and face mask, arrived at the court at about 8.32am accompanied by police officers.

She was previously remanded for four days from July 7, with the case being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Members of the media who arrived at the court earlier were not allowed to enter the courtroom to follow the proceedings as the case involved a juvenile accused.

Earlier, it was reported that the incident was believed to have stemmed from resentment harboured by the suspect towards several schoolmates.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said initial investigations, including statements recorded from several individuals and 10 students whose names appeared in a viral note on social media, found that the incident was not linked to bullying.

The suspect was arrested after allegedly stabbing a Form Three female student at a secondary school in Banting, Kuala Langat, on Monday.

The Selangor Education Department (JPN) previously confirmed that the injured student had received treatment at Banting Hospital following the incident.

Investigations into the case are ongoing as the teenager faces further legal proceedings.
