Bar Owner Stabs Ex-Girlfriend to Death in Brutal Attack

Date:

A horrific crime of passion occurred in Osaka on October 1, when a bar owner fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend as she came to his residence to collect her belongings. After the attack, he turned himself in to the police.

According to Japanese media reports, around 1:30 p.m., 51-year-old Hisashi Nagahisa walked into a police station and confessed to stabbing a woman. Officers rushed to his apartment, where they discovered the body of a 33-year-old woman identified as Sato. Two bloodstained knives were found beside the body.

A judicial autopsy conducted on October 2 revealed the victim sustained dozens of stab wounds across her body. Some of the injuries, particularly to her abdomen and back, penetrated vital organs, with police describing the attack as extremely brutal. Investigators estimated her time of death to be around 12:30 p.m., roughly one hour before Nagahisa surrendered.

Nagahisa told police that his “emotions exploded in the moment,” and authorities believe he acted with clear murderous intent.

Reports say Nagahisa operated a bar in Higashi-Osaka, with his residence located on the third floor of the establishment. He and Sato had previously been in a relationship and lived together, during which she occasionally helped at the bar. On the day of the incident, Sato had gone to the apartment to retrieve her belongings.

A male friend who had accompanied her waited outside but grew suspicious when she failed to return. He alerted police, saying, “My friend may have been confined.” Tragically, Sato was already dead by the time officers arrived.

The case remains under active investigation.
