Five individuals who were reported missing while hiking at Bukit Saga were found safe after a search and rescue operation was carried out by the authorities yesterday afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said his team received an emergency call regarding the incident at around 2.15pm before personnel from the Pandan Indah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were deployed to the location.
He said initial information revealed that the group consisted of four women and one man, aged between 34 and 46, who had lost their way while carrying out a hiking activity at the popular hill.
“Although the victims were reported missing, all of them were found without any injuries. Firefighters then moved towards the location provided by the victims,” he said in a statement.
The rescue team successfully located all five hikers at around 3.55pm before escorting them safely down to the foot of the hill.
The incident serves as a reminder for hikers to remain cautious and properly prepared when engaging in outdoor activities, especially in areas with challenging terrain or limited navigation routes.
