Civil Servant Arrested After Allegedly Filming Man In Supermarket Toilet

A 39-year-old civil servant has been arrested over allegations that he recorded videos and took photographs of a 22-year-old man while the victim was in a toilet at a supermarket in Maran, Pahang.

Maran district police chief Wong Kim Wai said the victim lodged a police report after discovering that an unknown person had allegedly recorded him while he was using the toilet.

Following investigations, police arrested the suspect at a restaurant near the supermarket two days ago.

Wong said the suspect subsequently admitted to recording videos and taking photographs of the victim. Police also seized the suspect’s mobile phone for further investigation.

The suspect was later remanded for three days to assist with the investigation.

The case is being investigated under Sections 509 and 292 of the Penal Code for outrage of modesty and possession of obscene material, respectively.
