Explosion Outside Islamabad Court Injures Eight

Date:

At least eight people were injured in an explosion outside a district court in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, on Tuesday morning, police said.

A police spokesperson confirmed that several victims were in critical condition and that authorities were still determining the cause of the blast.

“We are investigating the nature of the explosion. Details will be confirmed once our forensic team submits its report,” the spokesperson told reporters.

The blast occurred near the main entrance of the Islamabad District Court, a busy area usually filled with lawyers, litigants, and police personnel.

Local media footage showed scenes of chaos, with several bloodied victims lying near a damaged police van. Reuters could not independently verify the images.

Authorities have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine whether the explosion was caused by an improvised device or a targeted attack.
