Dance Instructor Charged With Sexually Assaulting Two Students While They Slept

Date:

A 20-year-old dance instructor pleaded not guilty in the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court on Friday to four charges of allegedly committing physical sexual assault against two male students while they were asleep.

Badrulsaufi Wahid entered the plea after the four charges were read before Sessions Court judge Raja Noor Adilla Raja Mahyaldin.

He is accused of touching the two teenagers, aged 14 years and 10 months and 15, for sexual purposes between late December 2025 and Sept 13 this year.

The alleged offences took place between about 12.30am and 3.15am at a house in Krubong and a hotel in the Melaka Tengah district.

The court was told that the alleged acts occurred while the victims were asleep after undergoing dance training with the accused.

If convicted, Badrulsaufi faces up to 20 years in prison and whipping for each charge under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Deputy public prosecutor Syauqi Mardia Baharudin proposed bail of RM40,000, together with a condition that the accused be prohibited from contacting or interfering with the victims until the case is concluded.

Defence lawyer Umar Zulkarnain, however, appealed for a lower bail amount, citing his client’s young age and occupation as a dance instructor and make-up artist.

He also told the court that the accused, who lives in Krubong, would attend all future proceedings and that his mother would act as his bailor.

After hearing submissions from both sides, the court granted bail at RM15,000 for all four charges and fixed Oct 20, 2026, for mention of the case.
