Drug Syndicates Now Using Courier Services to Smuggle Into Sabah & Sarawak

Date:

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has revealed that drug syndicates are increasingly using courier services to distribute illegal substances, even reaching as far as Sabah and Sarawak.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (JSJN) Director, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed a rise in such cases based on recent arrests.

“Couriers have become one of the syndicates’ modus operandi. We believe there are also shipments from Kelantan to Sabah and Sarawak using courier services,” he told reporters at the Kelantan police headquarters on Wednesday.

He added that police will work closely with courier companies to tighten procedures, ensuring their services are not exploited for drug trafficking.
