Elderly Woman Found Dead in Shah Alam Pond

The body of an elderly woman was discovered floating in a retention pond in Section U11, Bukit Bandaraya, Shah Alam, on Wednesday morning.

Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said the body was found by a person who was fishing at the pond, who alerted authorities at around 11.30am, according to Berita Harian. Initial investigations indicate the woman, believed to be in her 70s, was a resident of a nearby housing area and had been dead for more than 48 hours before being found.

Her family confirmed her identity at around 6pm the same day. She reportedly lived alone in the vicinity. Police said the body has been claimed by the family, and the cause of death is pending a full laboratory report.
