Ex-Aide To Teresa Kok Charged In RM500,000 Bribery Case

Date:

A former special aide to the Seputeh Member of Parliament arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex this morning to face corruption charges linked to the procurement of smart boards.

The man, dressed in a white shirt, was seen arriving at the court compound at approximately 7.30am.

According to the court system, the charges are scheduled to be read before Judge Suzana Hussin at 9am.

In March last year, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that the former aide had been remanded to assist investigations involving the procurement of smart boards by the Federal Territory Education Department on November 14, 2024.

Local media previously reported that two individuals, including the former special aide to the Seputeh MP, were detained on suspicion of soliciting and accepting approximately RM500,000 in bribes.

The alleged payments were believed to have been offered in exchange for assisting with the approval of funding under a people-friendly development project.

The case has drawn public attention amid ongoing scrutiny over government procurement processes and alleged abuse of influence involving political aides.
