Date:

A factory bus carrying 30 workers lost control and crashed at a sharp bend near Suria Vista Apartment on Jalan Paya Terubong this morning, leaving several people injured.

According to the Penang Fire and Rescue Department, an emergency call was received at 7:24 a.m., and a team from the Paya Terubong fire station was dispatched to the scene.

Assistant Director of Operations, John Sagun Francis, said first responders arrived within 10 minutes.

“Initial reports indicate the bus was travelling downhill when it lost control at a corner and veered off the road,” Francis said.

Six workers sustained minor injuries, while the remaining 24 passengers, including the driver, escaped unharmed.

Eight personnel, led by a supervisor, were deployed to secure the crash site and assess the condition of the bus.
