Fake ‘Security Guard’ Arrested After Allegedly Extorting and Forcing Couple to have Intercourse

Date:

A couple in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur, endured a five-hour ordeal after a man posing as a security guard allegedly extorted and sexually assaulted them inside their car earlier this month.

The incident happened on 6 January when the couple had stopped in their vehicle after buying burgers for a mukbang recording. A car soon pulled up beside them and a man got out, claiming to be a security guard. He accused the pair of engaging in immoral behaviour inside their car and threatened to report them.

The suspect allegedly displayed a baton and seized the couple’s identity cards before pressuring them into buying perfumes he was selling for RM260. When the woman said she did not have enough money, she was reportedly forced to transfer the amount electronically. The man then took both of their mobile phones.

According to reports by Sin Chew Daily and China Press, the suspect escalated the situation by forcing the couple to perform sexual acts in front of him before sexually assaulting the woman. Out of fear for their safety, the couple complied with his demands.

The suspect allegedly told them he had used the same method on other victims before leaving the scene. The traumatic encounter lasted around five hours.

Police later arrested a 24-year-old man in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya. Wangsa Maju District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Lazim Ismail said police received a report on 7 January at 6.23pm and the suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist in investigations.

He is being investigated under Sections 392 (robbery) and 377C (sexual assault) of the Penal Code.
